Tyranny starts when taxpayers are not represented. That's why one of our country's founding principles is "No Taxation without Representation." Patriots died for these principles. Amazingly, there are places in the USA, including NYC, where taxpayers are not represented. If that makes you angry you need to join us too
Taxpayers are treated as an afterthought. Politicians write the checks and then make taxpayers to cover them. Now they are talking about raising taxes again.
We demand real reforms so that taxpayers are never again taken for granted. Our NY Campaign is making progress and we plan to expand to other cities and states. See our Mission page for details.
Want to make a difference that you can tell you'll someday tell grand children about? Join us as a volunteer or support our mission with a contribution.
All donors and volunteers are confidential to the extent legally feasible.
Join our Union of Taxpayers. Together we can achieve real reform and restore the principles of democracy.
America's founding fathers met at the Tree of Liberty to plan their resistance to the King. They took action against unfair taxation and disenfranchisement in governance. Today, we are again fighting unjust taxation and politicians who have adopted an imperial governance style in line with King George. Unlike our revolutionary ancestors

One of the great debates of our time is about how much of your money should be spent by the State versus how much you should keep to spend on your family. Let us never forget this fundamental truth: The State has no source of money, other than the money people earn themselves. If the State wishes to spend more, it can do so only by borrowing your savings or by taxing you more. And it’s no good thinking that someone else will pay – ultimately that someone else is YOU. There is no such thing as “public money” there is only taxpayer’s money.
- Margret Thatcher, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
When it comes to State power, there is one fundamental question of governance: Is the State to be the servant of the people or their master? Governments are differentiated primarily by their answer to this question. If you believe the State is master - then tax policy is irrelevant because you either have no freedom or will soon lose it. On the other hand, if you believe the State is servant of the people, tax policy is essential to your liberty.
